Stocking a 22 Litres (5.8 US G) Coldwater tank | |

I have a feeling that she has stocked too quickly. She has 3 goldfish & what she calls electrolites (sorry, unsure of spelling). I'm not sure what these fish are, as I couldn't find a profile for them on FP. She sent down a blury photo and they look similar to either neon or cardinal tetra - but I thought they were tropicals & her tank is coldwater. So I guess they are a different fish after all. Will she be okay with these fish in her tank? Cheers TW |

The Goldfish will get too big & they will need a much bigger tank. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

She may not have a choice now that she has them home in her tank. Do white minnows have that really bright red & blue single stripe look? Although the picture was blury (due to the fish moving), I could see enough to see they are tiny fish, with bright blue & red striped colourings. Cheers TW |

(one day i will raise a goldfish to show its true size.) but save the fish the trouble and tell her to return the goldies. as most new fishkeepers will have the image of goldfish being small fish inprinted into their heads. |
