I am a rather new fish tank owner, I currently have a 20 Litre (Roughly 4 Imperial or 5 US Gallon)tank at the moment with a Male Veil tail Betta and 4 Albino Corydoras who do fine together and get on a lot better then I had hoped. I have a 30L (Roughly 7 Imperial or 8 US Gallon) internal carbon filter with the arm out of the water shooting it back in thingy(I was told this is adequate for a tank my size by my local fish store as bigger is better) and I have the temperature at 24 Degrees Centigrade or 75 Degrees Fahrenheit(Read online this is a good temperature for both fish I have).
A friend of a friend has 6 White cloud mountain minnows that are currently owned by a person who was given them as a gift but wants rid of them via any means (was going to flush them ).
My question is, can I put these in my tank without it being inhumanly cramped? Also does anyone happen to have a discrete way I can poison the current owner, Or at least castrate them

P.S Sorry if I added way more info \ conversions then required just wanted to make it easy and make sure I added everything I thought relevant

Hi, and welcome to Fis Profiles!
You did not add too much information for the scope
of your question.
And, we YANKS appreciate the conversons!

While your tank is nicely populated with the five fish,
I'm afraid that IMO, the six White Clouds would probably
put you over the top in fish population.

You, my friend, are about to become bitten by the dreaded
disease most of us are affected by...MTS (better known as
Multiple Tank Syndrome.) You need another, in this case,
larger, tank. Make your next one a at least a 20 or more
preferably, a 30 gallon tank, and the fish will be fine
with plenty of swimming room for the White Clouds to
frolic in.

Thanks for the reply Frank, Sadly at this stage I cannot afford to buy a second tank although I already has MTS
I plan to save for a second which I would like to start off as a saltwater with just some coral but that is awhile off.
I spoke to my disability occupational therapist who is also a fish owner(got me into the hobby for some companions) and she is able to take the Minnows so it all worked out thankfully.

I have had my tank for about 10 days now and finally got the money to buy a master test kit ($70 here ) but it seems I have a a issue in my tank.

I followed the instructions to the letter to rule out operator related errors but these were the results:
pH 7.6
Ammonia was close to 4.0
Nitrite was .50ppm
Nitrate was 0ppm

After seeing these I immediately did a 5L water change as I read that constant water changes can help correct this and it was due for a change anyway, Is this correct? If so how often will I need to change the water and test?
Rather worried that something may happen so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Update - Couple of hours since water change and levels have dropped quite significantly:
pH 7.4
Ammonia was 2.0 or even a bit lower
So seems I had the right idea, tips to get \ keep it right would still be appreciated though.

Ah, going over to the "dark side" I see...
Great that you picked up a test kit.
While your tank has a lot of "empty" space (one swimmer -
the betta) and the four Corys on the bottom... that can
be deceiving. In a sense your small tank is actually
kinda crowded. One of the better ways to decide how many
fish "should" be kept in the tank you should figure the
square inches (Length x Width) and then allot so many
sqin/fish. I'm doing two things at once at the time of
this entry, and pressed for time, so check on the
internet for the correct number of fish per sqin.
