Yeah frank, thats the basic for all Erythrinus or Hoplias, shame nothing mentions Hoplerythrinus.
Here are some photos. He's big, big enough to devour the fully grown Syno. eupterus that was with him. Here are a couple of shots, will get more later. I move house later this week, and cant wait to get that background off and paint it black!

Cheers
James

Goodness, he's not a baby anymore! How big is he now? Has he tried to bite the hand that feeds him yet?

Cool fish. Somehow I don't think a band aid will be enough. Maybe a needle and thread? nip nip

Thanks guys, hes pushing 11 inches. He eats anything, including 8 inch synos eupterus that has large chunks missing, steaks, almost. He grew up with the syno, and until about a week ago was fine. Ive made a cave that the syno can get into but the wolf cant now, but as soon as its healed its going to work. I will be upgrading him to a new tank when i move house i think, possibly a 6x2x2 where he can have a tankmate or two, im thinking a large(ish) Doradid catfish, or something very deep bodied. Maybe he will stay on his own, still not sure yet.
Yah kelly, hes grabbed me once when i was leaving a finger trailing, ripped a bit of skin off, but nothing bad, luckily i saw him coming.

Somehow, although I know better, I still have trouble
calling this fish a "Tetra." The "cute little" Lemons,
neons, Cardinals, etc are what immediately come to mind.
Not a mouth full of teeth that would just as gladly eat
a part of me.
