Some of you offered to come and help me with my tank as I am recovering from surger and its maintenance was a bit beyond me. So I thought I would give an update.

Wonderful Callatya and Sin came over on the weekend to help me out.

*Wish-ga officially bestows 'angel fish' status on them*

They cleaned my tank for me and helped me hook up a new more managable filter.

They even wrangled my rainbow cichlids and my lovely female texas into a bucket so we could take them to the shop in preparation for a change over to Africans.

My little girl Texas is in the display tank *swells with pride*
I was concerned that she went to someone who could care for her properly so it is a relief to know she will stay at the shop.

So my tank is pristine and sparkling with the airlines redone and bubbling away. The ph is being raised little by little and in a few weeks new stock.

I cannot thank Callatya and Sin enough. Before their visit I was ready to get rid of the tank as it's upkeep was too much for me because of all the lifting etc.

They are legends and all I had to do was bribe them with cups of tea and snacks - must keep one's strength up with sustenance.

Yeah, those two girls are pretty knowlegeable when it comes to fish, and they are helpful folks. If I lived over there, they'd probably be coming to my house a lot to help me out...
Seriously though, they are great people to seek help from. Kudos to Calla and Sin!]]

Now this was not a one way thing, Wish is the world's best hostess We were positively pampered!

I'm very pleased to know that the shishies are ok I was a little concerned that we may have upset them. Have they had a good explore yet?


When Sin and I were driving home, She looked over at me and grinned and said "you know, call me whacked, but I really enjoyed that!" and I agreed!

They have come out and had a good look around (gave the new decor the thumbs up) and even fed off the surface last night when I gave them some blood worms.

Glad you had a nice day. I had fun too. And I learned lots too.

The tank is looking GREAT.

Hope you weren't too exhausted at night. I was worried as it was a big day for you.

I did overdo it a bit, but it was worth it I slept all day today, had a 2 hour lunch break, then went back to bed til 6pm

Callatya you rest up good & proper.

Have been adding some substrate each day but ph isn't budging so far.

Since there are no plants I have cut back on the hrs the light is on so the algae stays far away from my fish house.
