how a species specific board can even compete with us on aquarank without cheating. although they *do* claim over 4500 members....

Its not species-specific, though....firstly, there are a number of piranha species, and the board's description does point out that it covers all predatory fishes....which is a very popular area these days. As for 4500 members, if you look closely enough at the membership list of almost every fish board with more than 1000 members, you will find that 85%+ of those accounts have posted one time or less in the past 24 months, that that board probably actually has an active membership of less than 350.

What do the IN and OUT numbers on Aquarank mean? The IN I'm assuming are votes but what about OUT?

I believe that the in is a vote for F.P. and out is the number of people have looked at the F.P. site through the aquarank site

That is quite uncalled for. Have you ever even visted applesnail.net? It is an excellent resource, and well deserving of attention.

if ur referring to piranha-fury, then 350 would be a very low estimate. ive been a member of that site almost since it started. theres a ridiculous number of us predatory fish freaks. and we likes to talk about it. of course the admin. on that site seriously pushes getting aquarank votes. its not required or anything. but its a hot issue with the "upper brass" if u will. as far as the apple snail site, all i can say is.... ummmm, thats alot of mollusk lovers..

I am amongst the predatory fish people....but look closely at the member list and postings....there is not anywhere near 350 people regularly posting on that board (or almost any other board, for that matter)....98% of the posts come from less than 100 members....most of those 8500 accounts have never posted or have remained dormant for 12 months or more, so it is unlikely that they are regularly voting on Aquarank.

members of the admin. themselves have posted threads talkin bout how their sick n tired of being second to FP, tho they never give the exact name of this site. its slacked off a good bit over the last year but yea, definitely some animosity there IMO. i do know what ur talkin about tho toirtis. theres always a group of people who ALWAYS have to post or reply to anything n everything.

I think its funny that ReefCentral isn't even listed on AquaRank. By far the largest and most active fish messageboard I have ever seen. Right now there are more than 500 users browsing the site.

I remember when this site was small (thats how long i've been here for)

I also remember when aquariacentral was one of the busiest around, then everything went downhill, and then some of the regulars moved to tom's place. Now they're back over at aquaria central or whatever its called now. Course, with every busy site, you get the knowitalls and the trolls. as well as the insults.
