Care: Feed with live daddy-long-legs spiders, large flakes, love to eat crickets, and small live fish. Easy to keep if fed properly. Add floating plants. A large tank is recommended. Make sure the tank is covered as the fish will jump.

Gender: Hard to determine. The Male is slimmer and has larger fins. Also the female has a straight edged anal fin while the male's is slightly curved.
Breeding: Not easy. The eggs float and the fry are extremely difficult to raise. Use a pH of 6.5, a temperature of 27°C, and make sure the tank is not disturbed. Use one female and one male. Make sure there are floating plants as the eggs float to the surface and adhere to them. Condition them on a variety of live foods, especially mosquito larvae until spawning. Spawning takes days, after which either the parents be removed or the eggs scooped up with a spoon and placed in a separate tank with the same
