I STILL have not got my shellie tank set up. But am not giving in. Because I lost my work fish I have the opportunity to redo the work tank as a 1 & 1/2 foot shellie tank. I have the substrate and a few shells in place,

THEN my boss said that I may not be able to keep the tank... I put it on hold.

Boss painted someone else as the big bad wolf. I know for a fact that other party has no problem with my tank. Our dept may be doing a shuffle into a diff building OR perhaps I am leaving to go to a new job.

Either way I am going to have a tank on my desk... it is like a potted plant really and they couldn't tell me to get rid of a fern now could they?

I am tempted to get the heater, a few more shells and some multis.

My tank was here for five years before my new boss arrived and lots of people love it.... what's an aquarist to do.

Get a petition of the office, including the person your boss said doesnt like it. Use it if you have to to get the tank approved. I dont understand why people have such a thing against fish at work. Very relaxing.

just a tiny bit distracting

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I think I will just ignore the boss and set it up... although she did ask me to hold off until I am at my new desk. That may be her non confrontational way of phasing it out.

I do believe I may just do as I please on this count. Say nuttin' and do as I please.

Found a place online that I can get 96 escargot shells for about $1.30 apiece instead of $2 each at the lfs. Not sure if I should order them in case I can't set up the tank.

I have my heart set on shellies so if I can't have them at work I will probably set the tank up at home until I can take the tank to my new workplace. I am loathe to set up a tank and move it though.

Help

How long till you're at your new desk Wish-ga?

If it was me I would wait untill I got my new desk before trying to put up a tank.

If I was impatient, then I would go ahead & set it up at home & hope for the best that I could take it to work some day. If you won't be able to have it at work, then at least you have it at home.

The question now is, how impatient are you? Can you wait for the new desk & hope for the best............... or do you want it NOW? If you want it now, go ahead & set it up at home.
That's my opinion anyway.

Therefore, I will wait to see if my new desk is in another building in this same company or offsite (applications floating around out there).

Good strategic question fishpatty. Timeframe unknown
Lots of political argy-bargy within the organisation regarding relocating departments. But I am hoping to move on. Either to another dept in the short term or optimally out of the organisation altogether.

I am patient
But tres, tres stubborn

Ok wish-ga you just sounded a little impatient before.

You..... stubborn? Na! Not you.

I can be stubborn too. I just need to choose my battles more wisely.
