Falstaf![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 785 Kudos: 1211 Votes: 196 Registered: 12-Feb-2004 ![]() ![]() | Hi and welcome to FP It all depends on what size of tank you have, and it's recommended to use up to a 5cm high substrate bed, also depending on what kind of plants you are going to plant in your tank. For example, if you are planting swords or crypts they get most of their nutrients from the substrate and they develop large root systems, so you want to give them more space. Most of the stem plants get most of their nutrients from the water column. If the bag says 4cm I would go for it, you can mix it with fine pea gravel, besides you can always add more later. Right now still trying to get rid of the "Dust" in the water.I read the other thread about putting cotton wool in the filter but my hob filter is rather small so i don't think it will work.Any other ways to make the cloudiness disppear faster.? Thanks. |

If not, let it settle over time.
