Then I'd either remove or at least move the central red plant. It is usually a good idea to off-set the centerpiece in a design, and having that bright plant right in the center doesn't look dynamic visually. Having some more smaller plants in the front will give the tank more depth as well. Good luck! They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver, So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces. |

The way it is right now is just too busy the eye doesnt know where to go first . Next because it is such a small tank I suggest picking only two green plants and one non green plant to provide a more uniform look. I'd work on making the driftwood more noticible as well. First thing though is to get rid of that background, I a tank come with that background once and it does make it difficult to tell what is plants in the tank and what is the background. Which makes it hard for us to offer suggestions on aquascaping. Once we can see the tank without the background we could give you a few more pointers. ^_^ |

Relocating the driftwood and placement of the smaller plants around it can give them a more realistic look. Along with getting rid of your goldfish, the RTBS is going to get too large for the 29 gallon. Jim |

Badgers034 Hobbyist Posts: 59 Kudos: 23 Votes: 4 Registered: 15-Feb-2006 | wel here is my tank as of today. Yesterday I was at a pet store and I found a container filled with these REALLY cool purple rocks, so I bought three and I now have a really cool cave. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e328/badgers034/DSC00740.jpg My tank. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e328/badgers034/DSC00723.jpg My Ram (I had to put a picture of him in here, because hes new and really cool) Any name suggestions for him?? LOL I would rather not put a plant in front of my purple rocks considering i spent $20 on them but they do look good. I will arrange them in a way so that I can have plants in the front and still see the rocks. Also, I will get a dark background tomorrow. I am going to add some more driftwood tomorrow and the dark background. |

Badgers034 Hobbyist Posts: 59 Kudos: 23 Votes: 4 Registered: 15-Feb-2006 | Here is what I am looking to do with my tank: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e328/badgers034/fishtankdesign.jpg I hope it is clear to you. I kind of want a high left to low right pattern. Like a triangle with a high left side going to a lower, more open, right side. P.S. Zoom in on picture so its more clear. |

keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | Well I am sorry to say the tank does nothing for me at all. To start of with there seems too many colours in the rocks, plants and drift wood. If you draw a line across the tops of the back ground plants it is like a big dipper ups and downs. There is no leading flow from area to area. Foreground plants are required to soften the harshnes of all of the rocks. A focal point should be about 1/3rd in from the LH end and 2/3rds back from the front, this gives the eye a natural flow and where to go to next. Various coloured plants can be over done I prefer various shades of green lighest at the front and darkest at the back. Have a look at the Aquscapeing links at the top of this Forum. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
