I boiled it and soaked it for 48 hours and I have now put it into my tank. I have notice however the water has got a brownish tint to it now, is that off the bogwood? Will it clear in a few days? Thanks Kain |

It's difficult to eliminate it, but if you add some Carbon in your filter & make a few water changes, the problem will be more clear in a few days. You will not eliminate it in a few days, but it may take months to see the water clear again. Don't you like the brownish tint in your tank?. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

In the wild there is Tanning in the water & so the fish are used to it & don't harm them. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Being an acid it will make the ph drop some...so depending on what type of fish you have in the tank they may not be happy with it. Since you don't mind the color of the water, I wouldn't worry too much, but I suggest that you test the ph and make sure it's not too low ![]() ^_^ ![]() |
