My newest tank is going to be at my other office and I am going to have a snow theme. Would this be safe in the tank?

I believe it would be fine, however it would probably have to be weighted down as it may float. Also it appears to me that it would be a real pain to try and keep clean.

A snow theme!? I haven't heard of that before.

Man! Like it isn't cold enough outside.......... you want a snow themed tank to stare into!? BRRRRRR! You must really love winter!

I'm still waiting for new pics of that 55 that you are in the process of redoing?

Hey! If you could find some fish for your snow tank that had white on the top of them, that would be really cool!

Hi
I agree with "OldTimer," that would be a BEAR to keep
clean with all those nooks and crannies.

The tank is going to be in the snowmobile association office so I figured snow theme. The substrate is white so I figured I'd throw a snowmobile in for decoration. The Vicorians are going into it. (if the weather ever warms up so the breeder can ship them)

You know that silicone stuff you reseal a tank with? Maybe you could coat that snowmobile with that stuff? That might protect it from collecting gunk, but I don't know what it would look like after that? Maybe you could practice on something else to see how it would end up looking.

Vicorians? I wanted to look them up, but never heard of them. What section do I look under to find them?

"I never was very good at building stuff with leggos. "

I just found my legos, I had one of the starship sets, now I just have to figure out how to get it into my checked baggage since I've already shipped my stuff . Maybe it'll have to stay at the parents till next june

Back on track......ermm I worry about the nooks and cranberries too, but I worry about trapped air bubbles turning anerobic. Possibly make sure you turn it upsidedown and give it a few shakes every week?

And I want to know how you're going to keep the 'snow' clean

^_^

you'll have fun building that. i have one myself... however, none of mine are in my fish tanks

but this? have no problem with air, as long as you put it in upside down there isnt really anyplace for the air to go except maybe the 2 hoses

Fish tanks are an expensive addiction

Well, they aren't legos but my best friend had G.I. Joe action figures in one of his tanks for a year or so and didn't have any problems. He just got a cheap toothbrush from the dollar store and would take them out periodically and scrub them off with that to keep them clean. Prior to putting them in the tank he rinsed them in really hot water. I like the idea of the snow theme. I had an "arctic" theme in one of my cichlid tanks for a while with some large pieces of this flat rock that we had at work that was a white-ish/clear color. I also had a sabertooth tiger skull decoration that we got in at work. It actually looked halfway decent. I can only imagine it would have been even better if I'd had a white substrate. Good luck!
