Baby Pandas! Yay! | |

BABY PANDA CORYS! YAY! So far, I've seen four confirmed babies. They're just 4 mm long and already they have little black eye patches! Aww, so cute! I'm waiting to find out if any more put in an appearance. There were 25 eggs deposited in the nursery aquarium, so I'm hoping to see more as time passes! They just keep on multiplying! Still waiting for any advance on four babies in the nursery though ... |

Plus, when they settle on the gravel they're darn near invisible! I could try and get footage of them on the move, but it's debatable whether you'd see anything! What we have here are translucent pinkish orange fishes 4mm long, that blend in with the gravel almost as well as that octopus in the video blends in with the background ... |

Calilasseia *Ultimate Fish Guru* Panda Funster Posts: 5496 Kudos: 2828 Votes: 731 Registered: 10-Feb-2003 | I managed to obtain one picture of one of the fry. And boy was it hard work! Only trouble is, Webshots mnaged to trash most of my fish album after I uploaded it. I've lost an album containing 40-odd pictures of my fish, and needless to say I'm seriously hacked off with this. So, until I find another repository for my fish photos, one that won't go belly up on my and lose my hard editing work, future pics will have to wait (sigh) ... However, baby Panda photos will be taken as and when they decide to make themselves visible, and I can take the shots without giving myself a hernia (the nursery aquarium is at floor level for crying out loud!) ... UPDATE : 2/01/2006 : I've now counted six fry in the aquarium at once. Trouble is, once the numbers reach this level, counting any extra ones present while the existing counted fry keep moving is a real test of observation! |
