Now Stupid be nice. No but the doctor might ask you what enviroment you are in. See ignorance is not a good thing in fish keeping. Stupid no one here is making fun of you all we want to do is help. Everyone is at times is a beginner. You clown could be sick because of your water parameters or his growth could be stunted but neither of these hypothesis can be ruled out because you keep refusing to tell unless the supporting details. So please help us help you. We want to help you but you are not allowing us to. We are here to help! So just give us the information buddy!

if you go to the doctor and tell them you have the flu, they dont ask you how big your house is

Right, but the flu is a specific disease, with a specific treatment.

All you're giving is a symptom. A better analogy would be if you went to the doctor and said you weren't hungry; you can be sure at that point that the doctor would have a whole host of questions to try to narrow it down to a possible cause, because, frankly, lack of appetite could be from literally dozens of conditions. That doctor would not have a job for long if he or she just started prescribing medication willy-nilly without considering several other plausible options or without getting all the facts of the case.

There could be many things wrong with the loach: water quality, stunting, internal parasites, bacterial infection, tumors, or any number of other diseases and conditions, each of which has a different treatment. Without giving all the information you can, the chances of finding the right one are relatively small.

How is that CL doing?
When you say he is three years old that would make him very small under 2ins as they are extremly slow growers.
It would be a big help to tell me exactly what is in the tank. Reason there has to be reason/s why he is not eating and greying (when is that)?
They can grey out through stress, lack of cover, pushed around by larger fish, and even poluted water. If there is a problem it can effect bottom feeders first and being so small he might be efectet first and not the other fish.

I had a problem recently brought in by a water change a very strong bacteria actually killed all the good bacteria in my tank I lost most of my botom feeders before I located the exact problem. Up till then there was never a problem with any fish or in the tank.

If you are having an unknown motor problem with your valuable car it is a matter of deduction and you must give all the facts to the mechanic or go through an elimination process first your self.

It could be a naturally sick fish or he has some thing stuck in his mouth as they are known to pick up and move small stones.

it is still pretty bad. i know that a healthy fish can live for around 2 weeks without eating, and it has been about that time.. im pretty sure he is going to die soon.

how old would a 9" clown loach be? i saw one at the zoo, just curious.

Hello,

Sorry for replying this late. I bought me some loaches recently that were about 7 inches and did not eat for over 2 months (I am pretty sure). They have lost a lot of weight but have finally started eating some stuff now, not a lot, but some stuff. I dont know if you mean you have had the clown for 3 years, or if he is 3 years old, but I would give him a nice place to hide, ensure he has some companions and keep trying some small live food.

Also, would suggest you ask somebody more knowledgeable about stomach parasites and treat him for that.

If you just got the clown (meaning he is 3 years old, but has not been with you for over 2 weeks) then he might take a little longer than usual to settle down.

Let us know what happens.

I had some CLs for over 15 years and the largest one 8+ins. They put on growth spurts when they are young under 3=4 Yld but as they get older they slow down. I would say the average would be about 1/2ins or less living in ideal conditions tank and feeding.
