I have an algea invasion and need help. Chineses algea eater is to mean. Any suggestions?

You can get a lovely Bristlenose Pleco & he will eat lots of Algae aswell.

Like jasonpisani said, a bristlenose would be perfect. Ottos are cool, too. A clown pleco would work, as well, if you've got some driftwood in the tank. Those, in my opinion, are probably the best for your situation. Its possible that any dwarf pleco might work, though. Good luck! Plecos are awesome!

I like the suggestions for the otocinculus and for the bristlenose (ancistrus). Both fish are nicely sized for a 20 gallon aquarium.

However, a good question for you is, "What type of algae do you have?" The algae is the result of problems within your aquarium, the fish will attack the symptoms of the problem but they will not eliminate the cause of the algae and therefore will not completely eliminate the algae.

i would go for a clown pleco. but if want algae eater ottos would work better.

have to be careful with bristlenose, mainly the males as they are very greedy and can stress out the corys by always following them around nicking food etc, i lost 3 corys to stress because of the pleco. i could have just been mine.

thanks everyone. I once had a clown pleco but it died. I don't know why except i had no wood. Tryed ottos two.DIED. Thanks for the other ideas!
