I have read that Hastatus pygmy cories don't spend much time on the bottom. The ones I saw at the LFS were spending about half their time on the bottom sifting thru the sand substrate and half their time swimming up and down along the glass. I am thinking about getting 5-6 small cories for the 10 gallon at church (see this thread) as bottom dwellers, and the choices are Hastatus or pandas. Hastatus I could get tomorrow morning, the LFS only had 4 pandas today. Will Hastatus cories generally eat sinking tablet food? Will they generally stay out of the way of the cherry barbs? (the cherries don't really seem to care about other fish anyway)

They do a good lot of swimming in the midwater columns. And they do spend some time schooling with fish of similar size at this level.

I think I'll get some, QT them in my 10 that only has one Apisto borelli in it, and if I decide I don't want to add them to the church tank, I'll just keep them here because they're really cute

I got 6 half-inchers, and have been looking at planetcatfish and it appears I have C. pygmaeus instead of habrosus. They're schooling quite tightly (no surprise in a new-to-them scary tank), and are super cute

You don't have any cute photos of them yet have you?
I have always liked them but never had any yet.
