Then put it in a pitcher or container. |

A flowerpot is another cave to a Raphael. Get a flowerpot that's big enough to hold your Raphael, and a clear plastic lid that's big enough to put over the entrance. Chase your Raphael into the flowerpot, slip lid on, lift flowerpot out of water, hey presto, one ensnared Raphael. Should work with any other catfish that loves caves but is too spiny for a conventional netting. Takes a little practice, but I think you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. ![]() ![]() |

Catching raphs on a flowerpot works, and if you get experienced, they can be caught in a net without becoming entangled. |

It usually takes less than 3 minutes to grab them out of a 125 gallon tank. The faster you grab them the less likely they are to know what the heck happened before you already have a good hold. Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn. |
