Hi,
A lady in my area is needing a temporary,
possibly permanent home for a couple of her fish
while she moves, and one of the 5 fish is a
Striped Bulldog Pleco, or the Chaetostoma Thomsoni.(others are 1 cardinal tetra and 3 glowlights).
I have read up on it from planet catfish,
but I would prefer some first hand experience.
Could I put it in my 75g tank (bristlenose and inspector pleco in there)temp of 78, or should I put it in my 25g tank which is cooler temp of 76, and has no plecos just my angels and some corys?
What should I feed it?
Thanks guys. I am going to pick it up tomorrow night.

I have kept them in a heaterless WCMM tank with much current. Substrate should consist of large river stones with sand or minute gravel sprinkled between them. Caveture is preferred, along with strong current. They are reputedly not difficult to breed, but I never obtained a spawn of my own. They are mildly territorial and enjoy foods of all nature. Water quality should be in top condition.

Thank you very much Cup O Lifenoodles,
as always you are a plethora of information on plecos!
:-D
I think I will try the guy in my 25g tank, as the temps are coolers, the water is heavily filtered, and the current is fairly strong. I will put some river stones in there for him to make him feel at home.
Thanks Cup!

Ok I got the little guy.
I think it is a male, but see what you guys think.
Heres 3 pics of him, he is acclimating, see how tiny he is in comparison to the glowlights and cardinal tetra!
The girl I got him from said she had had him for about a year now, and he was half this size when she got him!
Do you think he may be stunted? He was in a 10g tank with lots of black algae.

Pic 4: Top Shot 2 (See he is only a little bigger than cardinal tetra)
