Mine eat wedge shaped zuchini slices raw. The first couple times I tried it, only the pleco would eat. After after zuchini feedings, the ottos caught on and ate.

Is there a need to be worried about them starving? And how often do you feed them veggies?

I've heard they eat cucumber, but mine just eat algae or some algae wafers, that you can buy.

They'll usually eat algae first but starvation from running out of algae is quite common. Mine mostly like to eat cucumber and leaf lettuce. They'll also eat a little fish food especially sinking foods like shrimp pellets and algae wafers.

Mine like zuchinni (sp) and algae wafers. Also seen them even eat bloodworms. Just make sure to keep em fat!
