i think the only way is to get some full grown adults and fatter ones may be females. i haven't heard of them breeding, except the on from F.p and my best guess, if u have a tank large enough get a group and let them pair off like angelfish.

A man on the Gold Coast in australia is breeding them but is not keen on giving away his secrets. I'm not certain there's a way to sex them, especially not as juveniles.

The males head is thicker & larger,
The males head is shaped more like a horse head than the females.
The males eyes are more towards the top of the head.
The females eyes are lower down, & to the front of its head, close to the mouth.
If you grow up a group together the males are quicker growing, & tend to get to a larger size.
