hey guys,i was just looking around the newer profiles, and came across the snowball pleco,so i was thinking of getting 1 of these, ive never had this particular type b4,i red the profile, but i was wondering, are the like the common pleco or the goldspot, theyd do well with the ca,sa cichlids,if so i was thinking of taking my small bn out of the 89gal,and if i can get 1,putting the snowball in there instead of the bn,ive got 2 texas and 2 blue acaras in there....what do you guys think, also any hints or tips on keeping these guys would be great..

They aren't like commons, but they are kind of like the gold nuggets; they are though to be in the same genus, though the snowball has yet to be scientifically described. You should not expect this species to eat algae, though. Not sure how much you'll have to pay for one of these guys in Australia, though...

Depending on the cichlid size relative to the plec size, I'm not sure how much I'd trust them.

I'm sure lochness&ruby or Cup can help you out more, though.

I just saw one at the pet store when I got my Gold Nugget. They both where $45.00 Canadian, about 50 Australian. I would think that you would pay about that. As a guide I pay about $8 for a common pleco.

Have you asked the pet stores if they can bring one in for you? I lot of the smaller store around my area will bring a fish in if I ask.
