	What Age Do Bristles Appear
kipper Small Fry Posts: 1 Kudos: 1 Votes: 2 Registered: 07-Jan-2006	can any one tell me what sort of age /size BN plecs will start to show thier sex differences ie bristles .i ask this question as i currently have 2 different age spawn in my tank and have the older ones earmarked for friends and relatives,but as the males are territorial i wish them to not go into the same tanks two females on the other hand should not be so bad i believe.they are currently around 3/4 inch long feeding like mad and all over the tank.i dont know if it makes a difference but they are Bushynosed triads.sorry i dont know the L number. thanks Ronnie

As far as the males being territorial I think you will find they are protecting their nesting area or waiting to entice a female into it for breding.
