What Happened With My Friends Bristlenose Pleco | |
blaze_fire Small Fry Posts: 7 Kudos: 4 Votes: 4 Registered: 24-Feb-2006 | My friend has this great big brisltenose pleco. He was going to give it away to me, for my 20g. So, i came over to tak the pleco. First, we had to get it into a bag. I tried using a net. The pleco got alll stiff, and wouldn't move when he was out of the water, and had decided to attach himslef onto the net! We had to use a plastic container to move him into the bag. That worked. Except, one problem. The bag was leaking! So, we had to move the pleco into another bag, by pouring him into the second bag from the leaking one. This worked, and now the pleco is safe in my 20g! ~Andy~ |

BN's only get about 4 inches...or they are only supposed to. I wouldn't call that big. They are cool guys. Mine loves to hang upside down from the DW. They produce alot of waste though...so be prepared to clean up lots of poo. |

It probably used its pectoral or interopercular spines (the latter are near the head) to make things mighty difficult for you. The fish didn't want to be moved, so it tried to stab whatever it could in an attempt to prevent you from bothering it. |

But my paired bristlenose are both doing great and the male is about 4 inches whilst the female has stayed at 3 |
