hi all,
Today I brought four blue loaches home, size being 7~8cm. I've put them into my 50g community where already 2 clown loaches are present (8 cm each). I actually wanted to get some company for the clowns but they were out of stock. Instead i got these for a very good price. They look healthy and active.
If any body has experience with them, would they go well with the clowns? The other tank mates are gouramis and a couple of "one spot catfish". Any suggestions wud be appreciated.
Moreover, their color is not jet back as shown in the photo in the profile..its bluish grey at the moment. Is it normal? (the common name, however, suggests its normal )

I do not know about the loaches other than that the color will come with time, they are probably stressed.

But don't you think that is to much? They get 9.8 inches. and your clowns definantly need more space, even if they are still small now.

errr yes. They are a bit too much. But, as you can see they are pretty small at the moment. Clowns look happy and healthy. They've got lots of plants and a sandy substrate to play with. Plus lots of hiding places. Just thought of giving them some company and two is quite alone for clowns
Anyway, the blues were accimilated and finally added to tank last night. The LFS guy laid much stress upon the proper accimilation of these guys. As per him, a couple of degrees of temp difference could be enough to shock them to death So I was extra careful this time. They'r looking in good shape and are very very interesting fish to watch.
