can someone tell me whats the different between a golden spotted pleco and a golden spotted sailfin gibbicep??
how do you sex either of them ? can they be breed ?

I saw your thread on PlanetCatfish.

Your pleco is a Gibby, and difficult to breed in home aquaria (partly due to their 15" adult size). They require muddy banks to burrow into for breeding.

hey cory,

thanks, if they are in a big enough tank say 10ft 2x2
and if there was a fake background with pc pipes inside it would that be enough or do they have to dig in the mud?
can any tell me where i could get a white pleco ?

They actually have to dig the burrow themselves, which would make any tank extremely dirty. In Asia, they are bred in large outdoor ponds by the thousands. If you live in northern Australia where winter temperatures to not drop below 19°C, then it is possible that you could build a large pond to grow them out and breed them.

By white pleco, do you mean albino plecos? They are actually more of a brownish color.
