today i went to my wholesaler, looking for a algae eatter, so i ended up with a gold nugget pleco. he is around 1.5 inches right now, and doing well. i need to know a few things, how is long will it get, and the l number, and are they generally peaceful.

You got jipped if you were looking for an algae eater. Depending on the species, they can grow from 7" to anywhere around 12". They are intolerant of smaller loricariids.

ok will do. even if he doesn't so the job, he is still wonderful to look at. is thre a reason him, and fishes like him have odd color patterns.

I suspect the coloration patterns are a
natural adaptation to the environments
they come from, probably to blend in to
their surroundings.
