Depends on the type of Cory you choose.
If you go with the dwarf corys like Hasbrosus or Hastatus,
then I would say you could have at least 20 of the critters with lots of rockwork, plants, caves, and driftwood for them to explore.
If you went for a medium size cory like Pandas, Aggassizi, Trilineatus, etc, you could have at least 15
I would say 10-12 of the larger corys like aeneus or metae or peppered, or brochis splendens.

Personally I would go for a big school of the Hasbrosus, they are the best cories! the funnest, most active and energetic, not shy at all and super super cute!

Sounds like a great idea, but we need a little more information first.

What are the measurements of your tank? It would be good to know the total gallonage as well as the size of the entire bottom. The footprint or whatever that's called.
Are you going with just one species or with multiple ones? Do you have any particular ones in mind right now? Sneaky_Pete was right about your being able to fit in more of the smaller cories, and fewer of the large ones. Also remember that many dwarf cory species (C. pygmaeus and C. habrosus are two) will shoal towards the middle of the tank and not use the bottom as much.

An all-Corydoras tank will be a fun thing to get going, especially because you can choose to stock it with some really cool species.

I think you meant to say C. hastatus instead of C. habrosus above, sirbooks? My habrosus stay on the bottom mostly, while my hastatus go all over the place.

An all-cory tank, that should be awesome! Have fun choosing the species!!

When I had C. habrosus, they would go off in groups of twos and threes and hang around the middle areas of the tank. They mostly stopped doing this once they had started to die off, and the shoal numbered only four fish.

An only Corydoras tank should be shallow & big, as the Corydoras are bottom feeders & a high tank would be wasted. It's not the gallonage that counts, but the length & width.

Well, the length is definitely 3ft, while the width is 18inches. Not sure how many gallons that is... hehehehe

anyway, i plan on definitely havin more thn one species of corydoras in there. i live in Singapore, where the stock of corydoras are varied and widespread. I've already got sterbais, trilineatus, condiscipulus, oiapaquensis, habrosus, panda, melini, cochui, Aspidoras menezesi, sychri and atropersonatus.

Since i'm now gettin that new 3ft, and this is my new 'wish list" :

1) C. loxozonus
2) C. seussi
3) C. semiaquilis
4) C. tukano.

I've originally wanted Corydoras weitzmani, but found that over her ein singapore, their prices can go up to 3-4figures...hhehehe so i've settled for tukano which has similar colour patterns and characteristics.

and not to mention BARBATUS~! hahahah but in this hot/humid weather in sunny singapore, i'm afraid the barbatus won't thrive for very long

I've heard of fellow singaporeans who've successfullykept barbatus in a 3ft with mini fans attached to the sides of the tank which blows air directly onto the water surface, thus reducing the water temp....but that is just slightly too high maintenance 4 me at the moment

So depending on the tank height, you've probably got from fifty-something gallons on up to seventy-something. Nice, and all that just for cories.

Sweet list of catfish there, the ones you already own. Are any of them going into your new tank?

The fish on your wish list (Pretty cool, you can actually get those there? Remind me to mail myself to Singapore.) will hit the two to three inch range, so you're looking at medium to large-sized Corydoras. If you went with fish that were all in that range, at least thirty-five would fit. With live plants, good filtration and good tank maintenance, even up to forty-five would be entirely possible.

Hmm,45 corys in one tank eh...MWUAHAHHAHHA*evil grins*

I plan to move some corys to the bigger tank,so gives them more space to grow etc...yeah u can get those species ova here in singapore, although their a bit hard to find, but not at all impossible. They're not usually readily available in lfs, so most people *like me* has gotta order them in from the supplier or fish farms...and you know how singapore is reknowned for their fish farms hahahahahah
