Hi I'm not sure if I have an elegans cory or an emerald green cory or perhaps something else. I want to fill out my school so could someone identify these guys? Thanks.

Looks like Corydoras aeneus. They're the most common Corydoras species, so you won't have any trouble finding more of them.

Yup, c. aeneus. Off topic, is that a Bentosi/White tip tetra on the second pic? I was thinking of getting them. How do you like them?

Hmmm could be. Until a couple days ago I thought it was a serpae but they didn't look quite the same. I'll get some better pics later but I don't have time now.

Thanks for the help guys!

EDIT: Oh yeah... if they are White Tip tetras they're great. Really colorful and only an occasional lunge at one another.

Here's one picture I found:

I've only seen them in one LFS here but they are very nice-looking. I think the Rosy tetra is similar but without the white patches.

That looks just like them but instead of white on top of the dorsal fin they have black. Maybe a varietation?

Anyways they are pretty fast and hard to get a picture of and this is the best one I got.

Actually, it does look like you have rosy tetras. The dorsal fin tip is black instead of white, and there are a couple of other differences between your fish and Hyphessobrycon bentosi as well.

The catfish in the second picture are not Brochis splendens, they are C. aeneus as well. The dorsal fin is much too small for a Brochis.
