Will clown loaches and yo-yo loaches school together? and how many should I have of each if they do?

well how big is the tank, clown loaches will get very big, and they like to be in numbers and

big fish + big school = large tank.

Clown loaches have the potential to reach 12" in length and loaches each need a group of six. That's not to say every clown is going to reach 12" or they are going to do it very quickly but it's not fair to try to put them in a small tank. You also can't put in 3 clowns and 3 yoyos and call it a school. They may sometimes swim together and they may like the extra company of the other species but if you want to do the best thing you should have 6 of each species.

Again the question would be, "How big is your tank?" you need a minimum of 125 for the [link=clowns]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/clownloach.xml" style="COLOR: #FF1493[/link] and there are good chances that the clowns can get larger than 12"so yes a school of 6 footlong or longer loaches is gonna need some room

As for the [link=Yo Yo Loaches]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/yoyo.xml" style="COLOR: #FF1493[/link] They won't get nearly as large as the clown's but I wouldn't try to get them and expect them to school, they look way too different

Personally, I would get a nice school of the yo-yos and forego the clowns altogether. I don't think they would school together, but I do know they do like the company of their own kind. I've only a pair of yo-yos in my 29, but they are great budds and I plan more as I can find them. Alas, here in the greater chicagoland area I've only found one lfs who even carries them, and then only some times. Plus, they're much better looking imo than clowns are.

I had to buy my yoyos 1-2 at a time. I've managed to get 4 so far. There's only 1 store that carries them, they only have them every few months, and it's an hour drive to get there.
