The rhinogobius wui as far as I know is the name for the white cheek goby, I have many of these. PM me for more info...There is not necessarily a whole lot of info on these on-line that I have been able to find but here is a link [link=www.petfish.net]http://www.petfish.net/wui.htm" style="COLOR: #000000[/link]

The dragon goby (or violet goby) is also called Gobioides broussoneti. I had one of these that was extremely large but was eaten by our three spined toad fish. These boogers get like 2 feet long in the wild! Here is a link to more info on the dragon goby...[link=www.petfish.net]http://www.petfish.net/Dragon_Goby.htm" style="COLOR: #000000[/link]

HTH...

I sent you a novel to your mailbox here...

I am feeding them live frozen foods. Their favorite is blood worms but they also thoroughly enjoy brine shrimp. Sometimes I can get them to eat the freeze dried tubifex worms and brine shrimp but they perfer the frozen.

Beautiful, and completely freshwater too (in fact they don't do too well in brackish), making them suitable for most people's community tanks.

We see them on the availability list at work only about 3-4 times a year, so they definitely aren't the most common fish in the world.

They are a good catch if you can find them.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Actually, I have had great success with having them in brackish water. Maybe not heavy brackish... but brackish all the same. I currently keep them in freshwater because it is much easier, but they seem to be just as happy. I believe that they did originate from freshwater streams in China also but I have also heard of someone having success in keeping them marine, however I am sure that was not an optimal environment for these little guys.

I love these fish and I really miss the ones I sent to Jamie. I had these the first time about 7 years ago and I had them breed for me. I have kept them in a variety or different pH values and they dont seem to be phased by any of it. I have heard they are somewhat difficult to breed but they will go through the motions just not lay. I was experiencing this with my newest ones which Jamie now have. The original ones were breeding for me in near RO water. 6.8pH 0-3kH ( I miss the water back home, yeah that was the tap water out of my faucet) I dont know if the water had anything to do with it or not but I wasnt able to actually get them to bred since, the water here in PA is liquid rock. 7.8 pH 12-14kH so I am leaning towards they need a soft water aka rainy season to get them to actually lay, but thats just a theory. Oh and one last thing about the common name thing, I had originally bought them under the name of Hong Kong Gobies, White Cheek, Red cheek, dragon gobies, there is alot of them out there.
