Hello, I was at my LFS and mentioned that I wanted a Green Terror for my tank. He suggested that I get a "Royal" Green Terror. I looked online and it seems like "Royal" Green terrors are the common green terrors I see all the time. Was he just pointing out that an actual GT can be very differant or am I missing something and these are a rare type?

I think (after some quick research, so I could be way off) that a royal green terror is not a real green terror (Aequidens rivulatus) but a false green terror (Aequidens sp. Silversaum)

Same genus, different species.

I can't really help you out with why he might have suggested that, other than colour vibrancy. Cichlids are very much not my thing

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett
