Hi there

I have a 79G planted with African friendly plants (Anubias, amazons & java fern).

After following an older thread of Desiredusername's, I have come up with a stocking plant of:-

6 Saulosi Mbuna
6 Metriaclima estherae (already have - but being minded in my son's tank)
6 Cynotilapia afra (Cobue)
6 Clown Loaches (already have)

I added the loaches, after my son's success with them in his African tank and after reading this article Botia macracanthus - Clown Loach by Shelli Wittig

Am I fully stocked, or is there something else I can add. If there's room for 1 more species, I'd like to have the species all appear different to each, both to keep aggression & mating mistakes to a minimum and also, to make for a more colourful viewing tank.

I've stuck to the smaller sized Africans from Lake Malawi, and would like to continue the same way.

Any thoughts & suggestions appreciated.

Cheers
TW

According to the cookie cutter guide you could probably go with another species, though those guides are usually conservative

thanks for the link, desiredusername. Looked it up & like this one [link=Pseudotropheus socolofi]http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=919
[/link].

Here is the revised stocking plan:-

6 Saulosi Mbuna
6 Metriaclima estherae (already have - but being minded in my son's tank)
6 Cynotilapia afra (Cobue)
6 Pseudotropheus socolofi
6 Clown Loaches (already have)

The male Saulosi and male P.Socolofi are both blue (although different shades), but P.socolofi doesn't have the stripes, plus their females are different. Will the males be more likely to fight, both being blue?

What did you end up stocking desiredusername?

What do you & any the other cichlid experts out there think of the stocking plan? Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
