Greetings all, I haven`t been on fishprofiles in ages it seems (so many changes!) anyways to get to the point....I`m seeking adivce as in what to stock it with. I must confess that although I`ve been at this since the age of 12 I have never kept any species of african cichlid. So let me know what i`ve been missing out on!

That link has suggestions for a 75g so you could add a couple more fish in each

I have a 4ft mbuna setup. When I walk in the door all the mbuna's rush down that end of the tank to say hi... I have heard other people say they find mbunas very interactive/responsive to humans.

I love the bright colours of the mbunas.

They are quite aggressive and it is a challenge to get the right mix in there but they are interesting to watch with their bulldozing/digging.

I change the rock formation most about every second water change and it is fascinating to watch them scope out the new digs for the safe hidey holes.

I found that one of type was better than having a group because a group risks there beinga m/f that pair up and get into breeding behaviours that are even more aggressive than usual. (the usual being, chasing eachother, biting the cleaning equipment and my hands on house cleaning day)

Any thoughts on what stock you like?
I've kept; hongi island, mpanga, maingano, venustus, electric yellow, electric blue, lombardoi (others I can't think of now)
Also had a pair of Texas cichlids (Sth American cichlidd) - grow v big though. I stick to the smaller ones these days.
