I reacently read about conductivity in a book of mine and it said that most african tanks should be kept at a conductivity level of 600 ppm.Now i understand what conductivity is thanks to help on this site but now i need to know how to achieve that 600 ppm and what would be best to use.All help is very appreciated.thank you

What is the current conductivity of your water in either microsiemens or in degrees of hardness? Do give your full tank parameters. That is, pH, GH and KH.

Since you haven't posted the parameters yet, I can suggest some things to increase that conductivity. There is a product by seachem, Cichlidbuffer, I believe, and it's supposed to work great. It has a lot of electrolytes that would increase your conductivity. There are also other routes, like using crushed coral in the filter or using limestone in the tank. The limestone slowly wears away and releases some ions.

sorry i havent posted latley but the perameters i have is a ph of 6.9 i am in the middle of changing the hardness slowly so i cant give you an accurate reading on that and i dont have a meter for measuring the conductivity im not sure wear to buy one.
