Hey guys,
thinking about getting some A. Agassizi for a community tank which will also contain 2 banded gouramis, 1 angelfish, 1 BristleNose pleco, and 10 harelquin rasboras.

I was told on another forum that A. Agassizi can be extremely agressive and will kill any fish that hang out at the bottom of the tank, and will even kill each other. This is completely contradicory to everything I've read about thses fishes (including the profile on this site), so now I'm a little worried about getting them.

I'm looking for anyone who has kept A. Agassizi, what their experiences were and whether they found them peaceful or not.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a nearly all dwarf cichlid tank with about 10 agazzi and 15 cockatoo and a few others including bolivian rams and bristlenose pleco and then a few fish that will be moved my two blue gourami and keyhole and electric blue and a bunch of cory.

I have noticed that the agassizi actually beat up on one of my rams nothing that will kill him but he gets pushed around and some of the rams push around others including the cory. All in all a lot of pushing around happens on some days and on others its pretty dull, nothing violent probably a lot of simple posturing. I say go for it, and if possible get some red tail ones there very beautiful... and also look into some cockatoo's I have a few spare I could send you if you like.

I have kept them in community tanks many times. Never had any problem with them. Except if they have spawned, then they guard the spawn site. But otherwise, no problems.
