Hi there,
My sister got me a Balloon Ram for
my birthday, and Ive had it now for about
2 months. Its a cute little thing.
I wonder though, the lady at the pet store
said it was a hybrid, not a blue ram.
She said it would be smaller than regular
blue ram.
What exactly is it?
Its cute, im pretty sure its female.
Pretty golden whitey color with a pink belly.

Balloon rams are not hybrids but bred from regular german blue rams. They are just selectively bred to have a different body shape. Just like breeding to get a certain color. I don't know whether they stay smaller or not. I always thought they were very ugly so I've never kept any.

Nope, not hybrids at all. As was already said, they're just specially-bred Mikrogeophagus ramirezi. These fish are pretty similar in shape and name to the balloon mollies, and are likely bred for the same features- a shorter, squashed body.
