![]() | Bolivian ram and Angelfish with livebearers |
Mitchee![]() Enthusiast Posts: 176 Kudos: 75 Votes: 99 Registered: 12-Dec-2005 ![]() ![]() | Hi everyone I'm considering getting a Bolivian Ram and or Angelfish to go into my 42G tall. I currently have 3 zebra danios, 6 guppies, 2 swordtails, 3 platies and 1 balloon molly. In your opinion, would the both of them be fine with my fish and if so, do each of them do well as a solitary fish? My LFS advised that they would probably attack and even kill the guppies. They said it all depends on the temperament of the Ram or Angelfish. Your recommendations please? Thank you! *Mitch* |

A month ago I added 2 bolivan rams. The rams are the most timid fish in the tank. They are the last to get food, because they won't compete with the livebearers. The sinking wafers I drop in specially for them are usually stolen by the livebearers. My mollie actually stole a piece of wafer straight out of the rams mouth. He did nothing in retaliation - he just let her take it. I had similar concerns to yours before adding the rams and asked advice here. People told me that even if they show mock aggression to each other, they will ignore the other fish. This has been the case for me. This may change if ever they breed, but I don't have any experience with that. Hope someone can help out there. I'm new at fishkeeping, but this is my own recent experience with rams & livebearers. I have no experience with Angelfish, but have read other people's posts who say they can get big and can eat anything that is small enough to fit in their mouth. Hope this helps. Cheers TW |

Mollies are little piggies but if you feed enough then the Rams will get more food. Cant say how they do with Angels though. ![]() |
