This is a first for me. I've seen other fish whos color would disappear and reappear. But I have a zebra long finned Angel (rather nice), unfortunetly, I havent figured out what sex any of my angles are.

But this particular one, has claimed a 2 ft section of my 150 for his/herself. Which is no problem, its a big tank and nobodys got hurt yet.

But the point to this whole thing is, this one as I said days ago , is a zebra. I will see it and it has its strips, then a min or so later they will be gone. Anybody seen this with angels?

I have two silver angels (they also have stripes) & I noticed the same thing. I just figured it was the way the lighting hit them. They're both young, about half grown, so no mating behavior is involved. But I have noticed as they swim sometimes the coloring seems to temporarily fade out, then it's back to normal again. Whatever it is I'm sure it's normal.

Mine always did this and kinda got pale when I did a water change. I figured it was because of the slightly cooler water I was adding to the tank. I heard some fish will kind of pale in color when stressed too. Either way, it is rather strange. Maybe an expert will answer this for all of us.
