Same with keyholes, N. anomola, or another species of apisto. Oh, and bolivian rams would work too. With a tank that long, you have a ton of options. Personally, I'd opt for one of the acara-ish fish like the Laetacaras or the keyholes for a bit more size down bottom...plus, they're tough enough to handle any aggression from the cac's since they'll think the new fish are invaders. If you want to jump continents, A. thomasi or even a pair of kribs should do fine...although kribs can be more aggressive than any other species I've listed. Eric |

I suspect that my suggetion is going to be highly experimental, but if it works you'll have some nice fishes ... Apistogramma panduro is a lovely small species, with the added advantage of considerable sexual dimorphism even at an early age, allowing you to set up true male/fenale pairs from the word go. Take a peek at this species here and see if you agree with me that it's well worth considering. ![]() However, it IS a small species, and even though you have a 6 foot aquarium to put them in, watch your cacatuoides just in case they cut up rough with the newcomers. Have an alternative home available for the panduros just to make sure. ![]() |
