Finally brought home 2 Baby Bolivian Rams !!! | |
Bar-B Hobbyist Posts: 51 Kudos: 27 Votes: 18 Registered: 28-Mar-2006 | Well, I finally decided on Bolivian instead of German Blue. Mainly because these are a bit hardier. But I went to my LFS today to buy some filters/food etc. forgot most of what I came in for after I fell in love with a new tankful of the most beautiful Bolivians. Well I came home with what I hope is a pair. One is a lot more colourful with pink fins and the other is more darker and not much colour. They're only about 1 1/2" now are they still too young to tell them apart, which is the male, the more colourful one? (I've never had Rams before) Barb 120 GAL. Community Freshwater (2 huge mated angles, 2 German rams, Red tail shark, 2 Pearl Grammies, 3 Bushynose Plecos, Swordtails 110 Gal. (3 Koi Angles, 3 black marble viel tail Angles) 20 Neon tetras, 1 red tail shark, 3 clown loaches, Platys |

For the genders, the FP site says: Hard to tell. Males usually have longer filaments on their fins. Also females have more red in their abdominals. Also, I believe they will only get 1/2" bigger... -Nick |
