hey guys, over the last month or so,my fh has been on a food strike,he is still eating, but only what he chooses, and he is being VERY PICKY,he used to get heaps of varity in his diet, now all he wants,is feeder fish, fresh shelled peas,or earthworms, all the other food he wont touch,i starved him for 3 days and he was super hungry, but when he seen it was the pellets he just took no intrest, ive got like 7 different types of pellets, and ive tryed them all with no luck, apart from the peas,if its not kicking and screaming ,he dosent want it,does any1 have any idea how to get him back onto pellets?worms, fish and peas,is not enuff varity for him,ive noticed also hes colours have become a bit drab too, since he went on strike...any ideas guys

My only suggestion would to let him go without food for more than three days. I have left fish for up to two weeks without any food and have not lost any. Once hungry enough then he may be more willing to take the pellets. No guarantee, but worth the try.

That is good news. Again, if it was my fish, I would not feed him with any "feeder fish" in the future. They are not the best food choice and can and will introduce various types of nasties into the tank. You're just better off not feeding them at all.

well i only feed him baby convicts from my fish, they come from mum and dad convicts in my big tank, then the babies go into my 10 gal grow out tank for a few weeks, and then i feed them to him,but only as a treat.i never get any feeders from any lfs.ive never been big on feeders, however i got told that the feeders are great for bringing out there teeth and my big fella,i think he likes the kill, getting to chase it down and devour it.but ayway thanx for the advice, its always welcomeand also,he wolfed down he breakfast this morning, just different types of pellets, but at least he ate em
