Hi

Im going on holidays for 5 days and there will be noone to feed my fish unfortunately.
My tank currently has 12 peacocks 2 afras and a bn .. and a breeding net full of fry ..

Will they all survive this time without food? especially the fry as i know they need to be fed around 5 times a day...

Any suggestions as to what i could do?

Thanks !

They should survive but if you are that concerned ask your LFS as some have a service or know of some one who does a animal care etc.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Give your fish a couple of good water changes in the days immediately before your holiday. The water changes will give them great water conditions while you are gone. The adult fish can easily go a week or more without food.

The fry in the breeding net have me shaking my head. As you mentioned, they are little mouths and stomachs as fry. They would probably be fine for five days...

Of course, the big fish may be jostling that breeding net looking for a treat by the time you get home!

Thanks for all your responses.. i feel a bit better now leaving them hungry for that long! i will do a couple of water changes before i leave and clean the filter as well.

I looked at the auto feeders but they can be quite pricey!!

I have my fry safe and sound in 3 nets (one on top of the other and some gravel on the bottom of the nets which have so far kept them safe from hungry mouths! as long as they stay that way till i come back!

Thanks again for your reassuring responses!
