So, i just got rid of my 2 blue acaras, and i have one stunning male convict, 4 diamond tetras, and some bottom kids....now, if i plan on ever breeding how many (convicts) should I add, and do they need to pair off on their own?

72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up
75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair)

i would just get one female.

they should pair off, no need to get a group.

Yes I agree, but it might be a good idea to take out the male and redo some of the rock or cave work then introduce the female and male at the same time if possible. This will give the female a chance, beause the male will want to breed/fight her off as soon as shes in the tank. Id also beaware of the others in the tank, because convicts can very wickedly aggressive when breeding.
