Just picked up 3 discus for our 72 bowfront!!! And, sadly we traded in our Blood Parrots, but hey it was my fiancees decision.
We got:
Turqouise Blue
Pigeon Blood(red)
Marlboro.
Super cute!!! Will try to get pics soon, but they need to settle in and feel at home!!!! YAY!!!!!

Welcome to the world of keeping Discus. the discus you have should give you some nice colours as they get bigger.

They are going to be a bit shy for the first few days and then they will start to explore their new environment with comfort. If they are very skittish try a small school of cardinals to entice them out. Keep up good quality food to them and this also will entice them out.

The trick to keeping your discus happy will be clean constant levels of water as in temp and ph levels need to be the same as the water you are replacing. Make sure you do 30/50% water changes weekly to keep the water clean.

Congratulations for your new Discus & just leave them to settle well, as they take more time than other fish to feel at home.

When you see that everything went fine, take some pictures & post them here.

Thank you everyone! They suprised me and acctually ate some flakes, and nibbled on some shrimp pellets last night. They are already exploring, and in a week or so, we will be adding probably 2 more, I cant wait! They are super pretty!!!

I always recommend a minimum of five discus to reduce the bullying behavior. Go get the next two!

There are so many colors morphs being developed in Asia with exotic names that it is difficult to figure out exactly what some discus look like... attached is a picture of a "checkerboard".

Choose colors that you like...
