 | Kenyi holding, but not babies. what can it be? |
Little Caesar     Fish Guru Posts: 2351 Kudos: 548 Votes: 0 Registered: 09-Jan-2003   | I have a kenyi that lives all by herself in a 10 gallon tank and is quite happy in it. She usually eats like a pig, but lately she hasnt been eating much. i looked at her more closely and i find that her mouth appears the same way that my past electric yellows did when they were holding fry. however, she is the only one in this tank and has been living alone in there for months....so what can she possibly be holding? and it concerns me because she it not eating, and i have become quite attached to this fish...  what could it be? ~*~ Caviar? no thanks! ~*~ |

However, as they would not be viable they will either eventually disolve or she will probably spit them out or possibly just eat them. I wouldn't worry too much about it though unless you see any other signs of stress of illness coming on. Or if you're really concerned, you could alway remove the eggs from her mouth. Jim  |
