At one of the local fish stores here they are this new cichlid in and im not sure what it is. They have it labeled as a Flowerhorn but its definatly not that, it looks just like a female red terror but instead of red its greyish with black stripes, and it still has that Y shaped strip which tells red terrors from others. Anyway could you possibley give me some clues to what it might be?

how big is it?
if it is a unique specimen, it doesn't cost to much and you have somewhere to put it i would get it and grow it up. you could get a lot of money if you sell it as an adult.

I do believe the flowerhorn fad has been and gone. The days of getting big money for them have long pasted.
The problem with IDing flowerhorns is that no two are the same. Some can look identical to one of its parents and then fish that are spawned alongside it are completely different

the breeding pair of adult flowerhorns cost$400 at one of the LFS. a individual adult up to $350.
the shop also has another kind of cichlid there that is call'd a fung-shui cichlid(if thats how you spell it)
are the the same species? they look very alike exept the fung-shui's have more red and bearly any lump.
