When your fish are full grown your tank is going to be way too small. I would recomend at lest a 125 for what you have stocked.

The severums are going to end up around 8+ inches, the JD will end up about 10 inches and the group of Cons will be around 5 inces. Not to mention that the Convicts are probably going to pair up and own the tank even though they are the smaller fish. They pack quite a punch.

Just my two cents.

good point.i think i'll wait for the cons to pair up and keep a pair their too small to sex right now plus i'm not that good at it yet anyway.

Cons are really easy to sex. Look for an orange belly. That one is a female. If they are about 2 inches long you should be able to see a difference soon.

A pair of cons will do really well in a 54G.

Glad to hear that. When my female is ready to spawn, her orange color tends to get much more intense. Then start looking for their tubes sticking out.

For a while I had my Cons (1m and 2F) in a 55G. The male would go back and forth breeding with both females every couple of weeks.

to tell you the truth i only have 3 cons at moment, was gonna get four more cause i think the three i have now are all female the two small ones have bright red on their belly's but the third has a couple orange scales on the side like 2 or three scales but it has long anal and dorsal fins like a male would have i don't know if it's male or not.
