I have a 75 gallon tank with 1 oscar about 6-8 inches, and a pleco (common), I was woundering would it be ok to add a chilid to the tank, my wife really likes them and I was woundering how the two might get along. I know oscars are aggressive and i know about rearraning the tank around before adding a new fish (bigger than the oscars mouth) I am just wournding if anyone has kept these two together or if there are reasons why not to.

I am at a loss, as to what a "chilid" is.

If you are refering to cichlids, then we need to know which specific cichlid you are looking to add. As cichlid is a family of fish consisting of hundreds and hundreds of different species. As well, the oscar itself is a cichlid.

if you mena a cichlid then i would say no.

the oscar and pleco alone will outgrow a 75g. if you upgrade to a 125-200 you could easily have a jackdempsey or a convicts, but they are too crowded in a 75. depends on how large the plec and oscar are now though, you could get them then upgrade later (if both under 6 in).

GOOD LUCK!

If its been in there for a while, and considering the size it already is, I'd not put anything in with it.
