	Parrot Cichlid a good fit?

I understand the controversy surrounding them however, for some reason, I just love them!! Do you think I could possibly fit one in with my current fish load: 5 redeyed tetras 2 danios 3 tiger barbs 1 cherry barb 1 serpae I have a 42G tall tank, which means not much surface area. By adding a Parrot my fish load would just be a tad over, if my calculations are correct. Looking forward to your comments/suggestions. Mitch

HOKESE Mega Fish Posts: 1105 Kudos: 478 Votes: 271 Registered: 22-Feb-2003	how big is the parrot?personally,i think that tank is too small,if it was long instead of high,i would say yep great,if the parrot is still really small,he will probly be fine in there for a short time,also most of them fish could end up on the parrots dinner menu,especaily in a tall tank,no room to run,parrots can be nasty at the best of times,my neighbour keeps his crazy parrot in with his alligator gar,and beleave me the parrot is unfazed by the gar..hope this helps

HOKESE Mega Fish Posts: 1105 Kudos: 478 Votes: 271 Registered: 22-Feb-2003	Edited by hokese noooo,you know what,i was just waiting for some to say that,why does every1 ASSUME,that just because the fish can be big,that it is big,the gar is no where near ten foot,he is like 10 inches if that,and yes he is in with a parrot,witch is just about full grown,i was trying to explain,how bad the parrots CAN be,so i used this as a examlpe,you know,if its in with a gar,it has to be aggressive.
