About one week ago the colour of them changed a little like so.

Wow, thats a very nice looking color change there and congrats on the eggs. Which species of Laetacara do you have? I saw some nice thayeri at my lfs but they're pretty expensive so I picked up a curviceps instead.

Theyre dorsigera's, probably about an inch long, I actually just put them in with the bettas for a month or two for grow-out until they were robust enough for a bigger community, and it turns out theyre sexually mature!

Actually this is my first time with this species, and while im sure even a small acara is more than a match for a betta, and the pair fairly well able to protect most of their young without persecution of fish in a tank that heavily planted, would it be beneficial to segregate the imminent fry for their safety? Will they do well without the parents?
