I convinced my mom to setup a 29 gallon aquarium and I think she really wants to get a couple of angelfish to go in there. I'm going to be helping her setup the tank and choose her fish since she's pretty new at this hobby. I was thinking she could have 2 angelfish, a school of small characins/cyprinids, and a school of cories. I don't have a lot of experience with little schooling fish or with angels so I have a request. Can someone give me a list of some relatively common schooling fish that will both not nip at the angels and not get eaten by them?

Trigonostigma heteromorpha , rummynose tetras, cardinal tetras, neon tetras (some people would say they'd get eaten by full grown angels, some say they won't), lemon tetras, gold barbs, white cloud minnows, zebra danios, glowlight tetras, the list goes on.

Trigonostimas are quite popular with angels, as well as rummynoses and cardinal tetras.

I'd opt for a pair of angelfish and a school of 6-8 tetras.
